Creating digital asset ecosystems that produce maximum economic benefit.

What we do

Creating a digital asset management solution for public and private sector organisations that manages physical assets such as infrastructure, facilities or movable assets.

The SAMS platform provides asset owners and custodians with decision-support tools to monitor and manage their assets optimally throughout their lifecycle so that each asset achieves maximum economic benefit.

Asset management requires interoperability within and across organisational boundaries (e.g. finance, operations and maintenance, risk) to advance the effective management of assets – SAMS is designed to offer an interoperability framework which provides a single source of truth.

SAMS is the glue joining networks, hardware sensors, applications, humans, and legacy systems/services to create a seamless ecosystem. This enterprise architecture allows for a highly configurable, loosely coupled configuration for use case specific deployments.

Through harnessing the power of mobile technology SAMS users are implementing transformative policy and business interventions, supporting inclusive socio-economic growth and creating productive societies across the continent.

SAMS Principles

SAMS is based on the circular economy principle which is an economic system aimed at eliminating waste and the continual use of resources. The circular economy aims to keep products, equipment and infrastructure in use for longer, thus improving the productivity of these resources. The circular economy can cover a broad scope and can easily be applied to the lifecycle management of physical assets.

Building on circular business model innovation, digitalisation and digital technologies (e.g., Internet of Things, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain) are seen as a key enabler for upscaling the circular economy. The digital circular economy, also referred to as the data economy, refers to the central role digital technologies play in accelerating the circular economy transition as illustrated in the figure below:

Platform Approach

Advances in cloud, communication and enterprise mobility technologies allow businesses to move away from delivering technology-enabled solutions in silos to a platform-based and shared services models. The financial and performance benefits enabled by subscribing to a shared services model are termed Platform Economics. These benefits include improved affordability, scalability and reduce fragmentation across information ecosystems.

SAMS is delivered through a Platform Economics approach, where instead of each intervention being delivered as an end-to-end bespoke project, they are supported by shared, managed services.

SAMS is an enterprise grade data management platform for a mobile-first world. SAMS allows for multi-tenancy across verticals and country boundaries and is network agnostic, meaning that it is not tied to a specific network’s subscriber base but can be consumed and accessed via any GSM or NB-IoT enabled communication network.  SAMS provides the economies of scale and shared services associated with Platform Economics to clients by supporting all application instances.

SAMS is provided through a managed, software as a service (SaaS) model. Through a SaaS and multi-tenant model SAMS provides clients with economies of scale for both operational and infrastructure costs.

SAMS supports enterprises operating in the last mile of various value chains through digitising the registration of service points and beneficiaries, workforce and task management, stock management, financial transactions, and asset management.

These interventions improve master data management, reporting and the availability of strategic information for planning and decision-making. Leveraging platform efficiencies, SAMS also supports streamlined data orchestration through efficient third-party integration and data management. SAMS creates centralised visibility and reduces fragmentation in IT environments. In the context of limited resources and pressing policy needs, SAMS empower clients with affordable means for implementing data-driven planning and targeted, measurable interventions.

SAMS platform components are illustrated in the figure below:
